With the suggestions that we received for revising the page I decided to nix the red completely because the teal/blue scheme seemed to fit into and play off the connection to the MU design better as well as less obnoxious on screen. For the logo the same font was kept but i explored adding and illustration of glasses to it just to give it a playful "geek" feel and also to create some depth. The social media were added to the bottom and features the mu design homepage as well as the mugid twitter and facebook page where people that visit the site can go to connect with us. To resolve the icon issue we decided to incoporate them into boxes which we had originally decided against because it made the page appear to boxy but with a light enough color I think it adds more color balance and better hierarchy. To change the illustrations I also added some darker colors and we decided on the ones above for the final type geek page. We also added a slogan to the logo which basically lets visitors know that it's "created by students for students". The navigation typeface was also changed to a bolder display face to eliminate the problem with the previous condensed typeface.

Feedback On Typegeek
So we presented our site for Type Geek to the class and we received the following feedback:
- the red was a little harsh
- icons appeared to be different sizes because some objects took up more space
- black hover was a little hard to read on screen
- navigation font was hard to read, too condensed, explore a font with better tracking
- create more interest with images, icons on the homepage should maybe carry on through the sections
- add that it is by students at millersville
- add social media to connect to millersville
Overall we received some sort of minor changes to make mostly regarding the visual aspect of the site and not so much the functionality of it. For the article pages we are definitely going to incorporate more images to break up the text and to create some page flow. The color scheme is probably going to be revised as well and in general just adding more content and current resources.

Similar to what Kate did, I kept the same basic layout that the site had before. One of our goals is to keep it clean and I think that the old site did a nice job of that. The biggest problem with the old site is the organizational structure with the blog posts. To make it easier to understand we decided to keep the 3 main icons in the middle as ancor points, once you clicked on them it would take you to a subpage where you can click on links to further information about that subject. I also added a blog button so it separated it from the site but was still accessible.

Mockup: Kate
above: new mock up. When i was designing this I wanted to keep the same general layout because I thought it worked well as far as icons went. The icons allowed for a quick scan of information and also gave the page some illustration/images.
