With the suggestions that we received for revising the page I decided to nix the red completely because the teal/blue scheme seemed to fit into and play off the connection to the MU design better as well as less obnoxious on screen. For the logo the same font was kept but i explored adding and illustration of glasses to it just to give it a playful "geek" feel and also to create some depth. The social media were added to the bottom and features the mu design homepage as well as the mugid twitter and facebook page where people that visit the site can go to connect with us. To resolve the icon issue we decided to incoporate them into boxes which we had originally decided against because it made the page appear to boxy but with a light enough color I think it adds more color balance and better hierarchy. To change the illustrations I also added some darker colors and we decided on the ones above for the final type geek page. We also added a slogan to the logo which basically lets visitors know that it's "created by students for students". The navigation typeface was also changed to a bolder display face to eliminate the problem with the previous condensed typeface.
